"I have been going through a rough time lately, and I find that I am not getting as flustered as I would have before. Thanks Kirsten!" - Melanie G. |
| Frequently Asked Questions | |
- How often will I need to come in?
In the beginning, sessions are usually scheduled about 2 weeks apart depending on your circumstances. For established clients, coming in every 3-6 weeks is not unusual. If you are going through an especially challenging time, you may notice that your appointments are closer together. Back to top
- How many sessions will it take to get results?
Most clients eventually come to a place where they receive BodyTalk about every 3-5 weeks. Some people only come until their symptoms are gone, while others have sessions on a regular basis for maintenance and preventative care or for the well-being BodyTalk brings to their lives. Back to top
- I'm not sure I understand what "linking" means.
BodyTalk is a system that "links" certain body parts (like, organs, endocrines, bones, and joints) to other parts for the purpose of resynchronizing the way these parts communicate. These links often do not make logical sense. And I find that it doesn't help to analyze them, in fact, we can unravel their effectiveness if our conscious minds try to over-analyze them. Mostly they are addressed to parts of the brain/body other than the conscious mind. Back to top
- I feel better after my session, but it didn't seem like we worked on the specific area I requested. Can you explain what a priority is and how it works?
Because we live in a "need to know" culture, I understand the desire to know what exactly we're working on during a session. However, we know so little about the interconnectedness of our body, environment, mind and spirit - that for me to assume that I know what exactly is being addressed would be quite presumptuous. However, this doesn't mean I don't care about results. The best way to evaluate your sessions is by your response and shift or disappearance of symptoms. Back to top
- How long do sessions take?
Appointments typically take 45 minutes. To get the most out of our time together, I suggest that the beginning conversation stay centered around shifts that you've noticed since your last session and/or what you currently find challenging. I like to keep this conversation short so the bulk of our time together is spent doing what I do best - balancing your body's energy systems. Back to top
- Are there any side effects from the type of work ?
Responses to this work are varied. Immediately following a session, most clients feel quite relaxed, with a sense of grounded-ness and peace. It is not uncommon to feel slightly dizzy - so please take your time getting up to leave. As your body recalibrates to the energy shifts you may also feel slight nausea, gastrointestinal shifts, diahhrea, thirst, or (rarely) slight fever. These are usually mild in nature and should pass with 24 hours. It is always a good idea to follow a BodyTalk session with plenty of water. Back to top
- What types of conditions do you work with?
I work with anyone who would like to experience improved physical and emotional well-being. As discussed prior, all pain (body or mind) is a result of miscommunication or lack of communication between the body, mind, environment, and emotions. Therefore, any condition will benefit from balancing.

Behavioral issues,
Chronic Pain,
Depression,

- What if I don't have any physical symptoms. Can you still help me?
You do not need to have a "symptom" to come in for a session. BodyTalk can be used to accelerate personal/spiritual growth, belief systems, career/relationship challenges, and sports and business performance. Back to top
- Can I stop seeing my doctor or reduce my medication if I'm seeing you?
Although my clients experience excellent results from their sessions, it is imperative that you continue with your established healthcare routine.
However, BodyTalk and Intuitive Feedback work very well in conjunction with traditional medicine by allowing your body and mind to utilize treatments and medications to their fullest.
If you feel you need to adjust your medication or discontinue with your current providers, please seek medical advice before doing so.
Remember, I am not a medical doctor. I will never prescribe (or unprescribe) or diagnose. Back to top
- Do you work with children?
Yes. As a parent myself, I take great joy in working with kids of all ages. It's never too early to start BodyTalk! I have found that younger children respond best to distance work. This is especially true with "wiggly" children or those that are sensitive meeting new people. Back to top
- How do you work? Are all sessions in person?
After we spend a few minutes discussing your priorities you will lay comfortably on a massage table (fully clothed, except for shoes).
Before your first session I will demonstrate what you'll feel so you'll know exactly what to expect. Typically once we've determined what needs balancing, I will tap very lightly at the crown of your head and again, very lightly above your heart. Ocassionally light contact will be made over various parts of the body. I will always ask if this is okay with you before I proceed.
Because we are working with energy, close proximity is not required. Clients who receive this work from a distance report excellent results as do my in person clients. Back to top
- Do you work with Animals?
Yes. I love working with animals and pets and see these beings as an integral part of our health and well-being. To stay in compliance with Oregon State Laws and Regulations all AnimalTalk is performed from a distance. Back to top
- Speaking of Distance Sessions, does this really work? And how do you do it?
Yes, distance sessions really work. I was quite skeptical of this at first and was reluctant to offer it to my clients. However, after much prodding from clients who had moved, I began offering this about 2 years ago. I have found the results to be just as reliable as in person sessions. Distance sessions are treated with the same priority as all in-person sessions. If you would like to set one up for yourself, your child, or your pets simply give me a call and we'll discuss your concerns and set a mutually agreeable time for the session. These sessions are performed entirely remotely which means you do not need to be on the phone with me during the session. I will always call or email you a summary of the session once it is complete. Back to top
- How much do you charge? Can I pay by credit card?
Sessions are $75 for Adults and Animals - $65 for children (18 or under). You are welcome to pay at the beginning of the session to make the end of our time together more peaceful. Payment options are: check, credit card (Visa, Mastercard, Discover). If paying by cash, please bring the correct amount as I seldom have change. Do you know someone who would like this work? I also offer gift certificates. Back to top
- What is your cancellation or rescheduling policy?
BodyTalk works best if you come for your appointments as close as possible to the time indicated by the innate wisdom of your body. If you need to cancel or reschedule, I need at least 24 hours notice. It is okay to leave a message at my office. Because I run a full-time practice, no-shows or cancellations with less than 24 hours notice are charged in full. And conversely, if I make a scheduling error and give you less than 24 hours notice, I will make up the session free of charge. Back to top
